LVLing Up at LVL Up - 21st June
Kara here from LVL Up Consulting. With Jasmine away on maternity leave I will be stepping up as one of our Project Managers along with posting our Tuesday Blogs. Welcome! This the inaugural blog for LVLing Up in LVL Up. This blog will take you through everything I have learnt in business this week without having the wonderful Jasmine here.
So three things that I've learnt without having my guider, my mentor, my one and only, my everything, firstly is don't sit and cry in the corner all day, 5 minutes a day is acceptable. Just kidding! First thing I have learnt is to be you. Do not try and copy who you are replacing or be them in business. Be yourself, keep the business philosophy and guidelines, but bring your own element. So if you're fun, make it a bit of fun. If you like a bit of a dad joke, in one of your meetings bring out a dad joke. That's what I've learned this week. I have brought in my own bit of Kara to meetings and if I'm not sure, I ask the question. I'm not pretending to be something that I'm not. And if I don't know something I ask.
The second thing that I've learnt this week is to take every day as it comes so don't try and do it all. Don't try and be across absolutely everything straight away. You're just stepping into this role. I'm just stepping into my role and trying to take it all on. So I'm taking every day as it comes. Each morning I'm writing down all of the things that I need to be across, getting it out out of my head onto paper and highlighting the most important and working from there. Another thing that I've found that's working for me is at the end of each day, reflecting what I've actually accomplished today and what I still need to work on for the following day.
Number three is you are gonna miss them a lot, because especially working in small business, they are your best buddy, they are your world sometimes. And you are theirs. So working together so closely you will miss them. I miss Jas. But I am also learning to do new things. I'm being thrown in the deep end and it's exactly what I need. And I know that when she comes back, we are going to take on the world. Absolutely, more than likely yes, that's probably gonna happen. So just be prepared for that.
But anyway, I hope you enjoy my upcoming series and my very first blog, please leave a comment below. Thanks everybody, I'll see you next week.
